Tanman came to us with his brother and sisters at 11 months of age from a difficult situation: their mother had been left pregnant by her family that moved away, a neighbor took her in, let her have the kittens in her home, but never had time for the kittens. They were kept in a laundry room their entire life, so when one of our volunteers arrived there, she decided to give them a chance for a better life. Tanman needs some time to adjust to a new situation and new people, he needs time to learn to trust and a slow introduction to everything new. When he feels comfortable, he welcomes gentle petting and purrs up a storm. He needs that special person with the heart of a rescuer, who doesn't mind giving him as much time as he needs to feel comfortable, to be himself. He's a young, playful boy who can't wait to be someone's beloved pet. His estimated date of birth is 5/27/2016. His $85 adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness visit with our vet within two weeks of the adoption date. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday, 11:00 am-4:00 pm and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our cats is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm (walk-in; no appts.), a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment, and one free cat-behavior counseling. MiaoMiao came to us with her brother who was adopted quickly, while MiaoMiao is still waiting. She spent many months in a cage, because it was very hard for her to adjust to the shelter life. Now she is one of the roaming cats in our room and we are very proud of how far she has come! She has learned to co-exist with other roaming cats as long as they leave her alone. We have noticed lately that she has been getting depressed, almost like she has lost any hope of ever finding her forever person. No wonder, she has been at the shelter far too long, over a year, and can't wait to be swept off her paws by that special person who will give her a place she can claim as her own. She needs someone who is patient with her, who lets her do everything at her own pace and loving her for the wonderful kitty she is. Once she trusts you and gives you her royal permission, she enjoys being picked up and having her head gently scratched while closing her eyes contentedly. She would do best in a home without small children. If you think you might be her person, please come and meet MiaoMiao in our cat room. Did we mention how playful our girl is? Here is a video of MiaoMiao "hunting": https://youtu.be/7fnY99nc_Lw Her date of birth is 7/7/12. A wonderful man was driving through the reservation, came upon a wandering dog, and he gave her a lift to Phoenix. It turned out she was pregnant. One of her puppies, the lovely Daphne, is here with us, patiently waiting for her forever home; her sister and two brothers have been adopted. A mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Mastiff, this goofy, floppy puppy is expected to weigh around 80 or 90 pounds when she is full-grown. She is nearly four months old now. Daphne will be a joy for anyone who loves big dogs. She is high-energy: running, jumping, playing, and general goofing around are her things! She is still an innocent puppy, trying to be a friend to everyone, and learning the hard lesson that not every dog wants to roughhouse. But she will do just fine. Snap and Pop came to Home Fur Good in January from the county shelter. They were suffering from lowered immune systems and Demodex. Thanks to donations to our Medical Fund, HFG is able to help dogs like Snap and Pop. They required a calm and quiet setting to heal and become strong and playful puppies. While in foster they lost all of their fur, grew stronger every day, and evolved into curious, lively, furry pups. They were born on October 28, 2016. Snap and Pop had so much to learn; luckily they had a foster brother to show them the cue to sit for treats, how much fun it is to walk on a leash, and how to jump up on the couch for belly rubs. They are Chihuahua and Dachshund mixes weighing 12 pounds. Snap is two-toned and the taller of the two, and he is also the more outgoing. His energy level is off the charts; he is always up for playtime and he loves to explore. Snap is more attentive and wants to learn good-doggie tricks; he enjoys the challenge of figuring out what is being asked. ***This is a courtesy post***Corbin is NOT at Home Fur Good. To meet him please use the contact information below.*** Corbin is a gorgeous 6-year-old, 65-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound. He doesn't act his age and would love to be your walking, hiking or running partner. He aced his obedience training and knows most basic commands. His curiosity gets the best of him sometimes and he can pull a little on his leash, but he is very eager to please and can overcome that habit. Corbin loves the outdoors and will spend a lot of his time chasing the birds and lying in the sunshine. He has lived with other dogs of all sizes. He has a bit of an Alpha personality, so may need supervision and occasionally a little correction when playing with furry friends. Corbin is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, UTD on shots, and microchipped. Corbin likes structure and would thrive in a home with a routine. It is not recommended that he live in a home with children. He doesn't trust easily; once he does, he is very loyal and doesn't always like sharing his human with others. He is incredibly affectionate and will seek out his owner for attention. Under his tough exterior, Corbin is a very sensitive dog but is unsure how to express that. He will do best with a commanding owner who can help him overcome his trust issues. To meet Corbin, or for more information, please call Tina at 480-799-6424.

THIS IS A **COURTESY POST**. **She is NOT with Home Fur Good**. YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT HER OWNER (PLEASE SEE BELOW) TO MEET HER. Anya is trying to find a loving as her owner is moving out of town. She is an indoor cat who loves attention. If you meet her in her home she will come and rub up on you right away. If she is learning a new environment she might be a little scared at first but will warm up quickly. Anya has not been a fan of neighborhood feral cats and has never really been around other cats, so its hard to say how'd she react to them. She has been around dogs and will mind her business around them...although sometimes she does like to chase their tails. She is super sweet and loves to snuggle and cuddle. There is small re-homing fee. If you have any questions please call Christian 480-707-7899

Johnnie, along with his mom Silvia, recently arrived at Home Fur Good from the county shelter. Johnnie and Silvia, petite Chiweenies, were owner surrenders to county. Johnnie was born on September 8, 2016 and he weighs 10 pounds. They are unsure about the activity in the shelter, but Silvia has taught Johnnie well. So far, they show no signs of being yippy yappy Chihuahuas; they just watch, with their tails wagging away. They are open to strangers reaching into their kennels to pick them up. It will not be long before they start volunteering to hop into the arms of any taker. Johnnie and Silvia warm up quickly; if you hold them and then put them down, they will chase you down to be held again. Johnnie will immediately play-bow and roll over for belly rubs once you become friends. The adoption fee is $275 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Minker, The Stinker, is definitely a favorite at Home Fur Good. Why would we call this 11-pound four-year-old a Stinker? Not as an insult, to be sure! Minker has a great sense of humor and he is always ready for anyone to take him on any sort of adventure. The best thing about Minker is that a trip from his kennel to the lobby of the shelter is going to be the best trip of his life. He will zip about and hop around and his whole body will wiggle from his tail wag. He is only a stinker because he will make you smile and laugh even when you do not want to. Minker is a Chihuahua mix with the agility skills of an antelope. He is able to leap a four-foot wall in a single bound--what a stinker! Minker is great with other dogs and loves to play with his doggie friends. He also does not mind unwinding by hanging out in a nice warm lap. Minker is the perfect combination of playful entertainer and snuggly lapdog. His ears are on alert, waiting to hear the call from his new forever home. Harley is spirited, fearless, and known around the shelter as the King of Fetch. He is a spitfire best suited for an experienced owner who can manage his willful nature. He is a three-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix, and a little fireball weighing 16 pounds. It is a plus for Harley that his antics are pure entertainment, and he will make a great companion. Harley has no clue that he is a little dog classified as a Toy breed. In his head, he is a big guy. He is an active dog and curious about everything. He will require mental stimulation and he loves walks, but he will not require a lot of exercise if his mind is kept active. Harley will flip over on his back for everyone he meets, because they must be there to rub his belly. His quirk is that being picked up is not for him. Harley is accepting of the leash and will hop into any lap, but he would prefer you do not pick him up. Harley wants to be your companion dog and he promises deep love and loyalty to his new family. Major is a staff and volunteer favorite at Home Fur Good; he has become a solid member of the family since arriving in December. He is a two-year-old mix of heart, fluff and Shepherd. Major has a nutty sense of humor. You will be drawn in by his silly demeanor; he loves to play and entertain. Major does know the cue to sit, and he also gives his full attention to his humans for direction. However, his attention span can be short-lived and he will start to jump to get your affection. Major will need an assertive and consistent owner, so that he always exhibits his good-dog behaviors; maybe a little obedience training would be a fun outing to do together. Major is dog friendly, but he will thrive as the only dog in his household. He is good with kids, and older kids would be best, so that when his puppy energy comes out they can handle him and his 60 pounds, and will understand that he is looking for direction. With a little time and patience, Major will make an award-winning and wacky companion. Captain is a unique mix of Border Collie and Saint Bernard, weighing in at 52 pounds. Home Fur Good initially rescued this six-year-old gentleman from the county shelter in November. Captain was adopted, and has returned after spending a few months in a home where his personality started to show, and now his perfect family can be found. He lived with a man and a woman, and he was great with both of them and especially loving toward the man. Captain became protective of his family, and he would lunge and growl at strangers, especially men. He also has a strong prey drive. The perfect scenario for Captain would be a home where there are not a lot of strangers or visitors stopping by. In a calm environment, he just goes with the flow, and he calmly goes about his day. Captain does have a playful side; when he lets his guard down and he is comfortable, he allows himself to be a puppy again. He is buddies with shelter-mate Spot; they wrestle, play chase, and go on great walks together. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Maverick (black and gray) and Moe (gray) are brothers. They are stunningly beautiful young cats who came to Home Fur Good as kittens after being found in someone's backyard. They started out as feral kittens, but our volunteers and staff have been working hard at helping Maverick and Moe learn to trust humans and enjoy our company. We are making some very good progress and we will consider adopting them out to someone who is patient and loving, someone who will help them see that being a house-cat and living with humans is the best thing ever. Watch Maverick enjoying his daily dose of petting/back scratching delivered by one of our dedicated volunteers:https://youtu.be/bVMI-ME9RiM The cats are bonded and always have a blast playing together. That is why they have to be adopted together. They are fantastic with other cats, so if you have a nice cat who needs some feline company and two playmates, then Maverick and Moe would be the purr-fect choice. We are positive that with time, patience and love they will come around and become wonderful little companions. Watch a video of Moe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB2PYAMGOnc and another one of Maverick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvvAUwyZJ4k Their date of birth is 11/28/2015.
