Brooklyn, a Pit Bull mix, came to Home Fur Good in August. She was an owner surrender to the county shelter and she was extremely underweight at only 23 pounds. Brooklyn recovered and weighs a healthy 45 pounds. She turned one year old in December and is full of puppy energy. Her favorite way to burn off energy is to play with her canine companions. Brooklyn plays with both male and female dogs at HFG. She is a smart cookie, and has mastered the cue to sit. She would enjoy continued training where she could exercise her mind, learning all the desired good-dog tricks. Brooklyn has been learning how much fun it is to go on walks. She is new to the experience, so she stops to smell all the flowers and then some. Brooklyn makes even the mundane exciting, when you see her eyes sparkle at all new experiences. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Here is the situation that does not happen very often. Caesar (orange, male) and Puma (black, female) came to us from the same area but at different times; they are brother and sister and we were told they were bonded. Caesar came first, and shortly after Puma was brought to the shelter. In the meantime, Caeasar developed a crush on Kimmie, an adorable, outgoing tabico girl in the cat room. When Puma came to the shelter, she was extremely shy and withdrawn, hiding all the time. Eventually, she and Caesar found their way back into each other's paws. Caesar has proved to be a great brother to Puma and boyfriend to Kimmie. We have never had a trio like this before, and now we are faced with the dilemma of how to keep all three together. Because Puma is a shy kitty and relies on Caesar, they must be adopted together. Puma likes to play with a laser pointer and is slowly coming out of her shell with the help of Caesar. However, we would be thrilled to see all three of them go to their new forever home together. If this is not possible, Kimmie can be adopted separately. They are a pure joy and delight to watch. All three are beautiful, quiet cats that just need a loving family. Caesar and Pumma's estimated date of birth is 6/20/2017; Kimmie's estimated date of birth is 8/9/2016. Their adoption fee is $200 for all three: $150 for Puma and Caesar if adopted together, and $85 for Kimmie if adopted alone. Their adoption fees include spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness visit with our vet within two weeks of the adoption date. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday, 11:00 am-4:00 pm and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Home Fur Good found Charlie at the county shelter in March 2017. He was a sad sack suffering from skin allergies. He was itchy, raw and even had open wounds. Charlie is on a special prescription diet and has grain-free treats, which have helped him immensely. He has a great attitude and craves being a member of the family. Charlie loves to be in the mix; he is no wallflower. He is a four-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing 60 pounds. He is very strong physically and determined mentally. When Charlie wants to do something, he is going to do it. He will do best with an owner with an even stronger will, who will be consistent and firm. Charlie cannot be allowed to rule the roost; he needs structure. He is a solid low-rider who does not know that he could bowl you over. He adores kids, but he does not always keep to his personal space and so he needs to be around older kids or kids who will not mind getting knocked off their feet a time or two. Charlie is low-maintenance when it comes to activity. A brisk walk or short burst of play will keep him happy. If you sit down, by the time you blink his head will be in your lap. Charlie would do best as an only dog; he does have a few quirks with sharing. He is looking for a forever home, but we are currently accepting applications to foster Charlie. He needs a break from the hustle and bustle of shelter life. A foster home would also provide excellent insight to his temperament in a home environment. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Chloe is a unique looking kitty: one of her eyes is darker than the the other one. It does NOT affect her vision but only adds some charm to this already pretty girl. She is a great kitty in need of a new quiet home, where she will be loved and respected for the rest of her life. She is an affectionate girl and loves to be petted and loves the affection. She prefers an open (NOT covered) litter box with non-scented litter, wet and dry cat food. She does fine with other cats, as long as they are laid back and easy going like she is. A slow introduction is required. Chloe will make a great companion for an easy going quiet person. She's going to need a scratching post and will appreciate a kitty tree in her new home. Harley is a two-year-old Pit Bull mix. He started his life at Home Fur Good when his mother, Tootsie, had her litter. He was known back then as Twix. Harley has been busy growing into the 63-pound dog he is today. He is housebroken and was allowed to roam his home both day and night with the use of a doggie door. Harley knows the commands for sit and down, is good with strangers and other dogs, and he loves kids. Harley has made doggie friends already at Home Fur Good. He may be better with larger dogs, since he does like to roughhouse. Harley loves water; his owner stated that it is nearly impossible to keep him out of the swimming pool, but he needs to be watched around water because he is a sinker. Even at HFG, Harley was all about playing in the water spray from the hose. He started having seizures, and he was recently diagnosed with Valley Fever. He started medication but it was decided that the shelter is better for him during his recovery and moving forward. Harley is now fully ready to find his new perfect family. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Rey is a puppy who has been through quite a bit in her life so far. She was taken to the county shelter as a stray. Home Fur Good saw that she was in need and took her in. Rey will turn one year old on February 17, 2018, and she is a 26-pound Australian Shepherd mix. Rey is what is commonly known as a Double Merle, a dog with two copies of the merle gene. Double Merle dogs may have a variety of eye defects and hearing deficiencies. HFG did remove her right eye and she is adjusting and working on depth perception with her remaining beautiful blue eye. Rey is also hearing impaired, but she is intelligent and eager to please. She will sit right next to you and watch your face and body movements for clues on what you are asking. Training and working with Rey will be a bonding experience. Rey asks for your patience and she will supply a lifetime of loyalty. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.

When Savannah was turned in to the county shelter as a stray, she instantly became what they refer to as a Project Dog. She is a two-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 50 pounds. Savannah was skittish, nervous, and fearful of all the activity. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control put out a request to various rescues to take Savannah in. Home Fur Good answered the call and we will give Savannah the time she needs to adjust. MCACC suggests that Savannah go to a quiet home with no kids. HFG is still assessing and working with her, and we will make sure she goes to the perfect, patient owner. Savannah is already warming up to staff and volunteers, the people she sees consistently. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. This a **Courtesy Post**. **Sweetie is NOT with Home Fur Good**. ***You will need to CONTACT HER RESCUER (please see BELOW) to meet her.*** Sweetie is a beautiful caliby (calico + tabby) cat whose life started outside in the Arizona heat, but has come to love the life of an indoor pampered princess. A doting mother to her two young sons, she has finished raising them to be their best selves and is now ready to relax into life with a happy family looking for a sweet affectionate feline companion. She loves hunting for sunny spots to laze in, and occasionally persuaded into playing with a selection of fine toys. Her favorite hobby, however, is to rub lovingly against her humans legs to get her purr motor going. Sweetie would be happiest being the sole princess of your household. If she has to share, she’d be most appreciative of a slow introduction. She is about one year of age. Sweetie is spayed and is up to date on vaccinations. There is a small adoption fee. If you are interested in meeting Sweetie, please contact Jenn at jennlfrey79@gmail.com or text@602-509-0259.

Tanman came to us with his brother and sisters at 11 months of age from a difficult situation: their mother had been left pregnant by her family that moved away, a neighbor took her in, let her have the kittens in her home, but never had time for the kittens. They were kept in a laundry room their entire life, so when one of our volunteers arrived there, she decided to give them a chance for a better life. Tanman needs some time to adjust to a new situation and new people, he needs time to learn to trust and a slow introduction to everything new. When he feels comfortable, he welcomes gentle petting and purrs up a storm. He needs that special person with the heart of a rescuer, who doesn't mind giving him as much time as he needs to feel comfortable, to be himself. He's a young, playful boy who can't wait to be someone's beloved pet. His estimated date of birth is 5/27/2016. His $85 adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness visit with our vet within two weeks of the adoption date. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday, 11:00 am-4:00 pm and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. They were kept in a laundry room their entire life, so when one of our volunteers arrived there, she decided to give them a chance for a better life. She's still pretty scared and not trusting of people, but our volunteers are working with her. She's young, playful, beautiful - she deserves a chance of a better life. **Zeus is NOT at the shelter**. ***You will need to CONTACT HIS FOSTER (please see BELOW) to meet him.*** Zeus used to be a stray, most likely abandoned by his family. This young big boy with incredibly soft fur is all love, cuddles, and purrs, but he enjoys some good playtime with a human as well. He thinks that a kitty's place is in his human's bed, so this is where you will often find him. He enjoys kisses, pets, and all the attention you can give him. He allows clipping his nails with no fuss. Zeus is a little intimidated by other cats but he will probably do well with another laid-back, non-dominant cat as long as they are introduced properly and he is given enough time to adjust to having a feline friend. He does not seem to mind dogs. His approximate date of birth is 11/29/2015. If you have questions about Zeus or want to meet him, please CONTACT Olya at 6happypurrs@gmail.com His $85adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness visit with our vet within two weeks of the adoption date.
