  • Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Sweet Bea is just two years old, but she has already created quite a history book. Originally, Bea was captured in a trap out in a field and then taken to the county shelter, where Home Fur Good found her. Bea was under-socialized and needed to learn all about how to be a dog. You know, the good stuff, like going for walks. Bea was adopted out of HFG and she has been with a family for the past year. She is an active 45-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix. Bea is young and intelligent; she needs to play a role in family activities. Her family just did not have the time to devote to her. Bea did well with the children in her home, who were over five years old. Bea has not spent quality time with other dogs, and she appears intimidated by them. She warms up quickly and will sit when asked. After burning a little energy, Bea would love to snuggle up and get a good belly rub. If you would like to finish her story with a Happily Ever After, please come meet Bea. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Bruce was found as a stray back in February, and he has been at the county shelter since then. He is a little guy, weighing 8 pounds, and he is a Chihuahua mix. County discovered that this little three-year-old allowed himself to be picked up and handled with no aggression. Bruce would come up and sniff and tease for more attention. They discovered he would seek attention more when by himself and not within a dog playgroup. Bruce is settling in at Home Fur Good. He has allowed himself to be picked up and loved on by everyone who has tried. He is looking for a home full of patience, consistency, and love - a place where he can learn to be himself and let his personality through. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Dukes has been with Home Fur Good since February, when he had been turned in at the county shelter. He has been making friends in his doggie playgroup and wiggling his way into the hearts of volunteers and staff. Dukes becomes affectionate very quickly; a sniff and a belly rub and he will allow you into his circle of trust. RunBuddy mobile gym comes to the shelter every Saturday, and Dukes is always on the list to participate. RunBuddy is helping to build his confidence and keeping him fit for future walks with his forever family. Dukes thought he had found his forever home when he was adopted out for about a month. Unfortunately, it was not a total love connection and Dukes was brought back to HFG. Dukes will need a little time and patience to learn the new rules of the home he goes to. He wants to please; he just needs to learn what is expected of him. If you have dogs already and would like to add another, Dukes is happy to have buddies. If you are looking an only dog, Dukes cannot wait to be your official lap warmer. Dukes is seven years old as of September 1, 2019, and he is a 15-pound Chihuahua mix. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Australian Shepherd
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Dylan is a one-year-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing in at 45 pounds. A Good Samaritan found Dylan, along with another dog, in an alley behind his workplace. Dylan was then taken to the county shelter, where it was noted that he was nervous and required coaxing to come out of his kennel. Well, Home Fur Good can confirm that Dylan has quickly adapted to shelter life and no more coaxing is needed. Dylan considers everyone a playmate and he is just bursting to come out of his kennel for socialization. Dylan is still figuring out the intention of a leash and is a great candidate for basic obedience training so he can learn the socially acceptable way to great people: politely and not at full speed. Dylan played with other dogs while at county, and hopefully soon he will make new friends at HFG while he waits for his forever family. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Farley came to Home Fur Good via special delivery from county. He had found himself at county after being picked up as a stray. Farley is full of enthusiasm and he wants to share his energy with everyone. Please note that Farley loves adults but does not do so well with children, and he must go to a home with no kids. He is an eight-month-old Australian Kelpie mix weighing 30 pounds. Farley is all about the play, his zest for life is infectious, and you will fall in love instantly. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A COURTESY POST AND HAZEL *IS NOT* AT HOME FUR GOOD**. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE USE THE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW. Meet Hazel, a Jack Russell and Cattle Dog mix with a birthdate of February 12, 2018. She is super-sweet and full of energy, and she is a little girl, about 20 pounds. Hazel is wonderful with people, but she needs to be an only pet, and she needs a backyard where she can run and play; she is so accustomed to having that outlet that she does not do well on walks. Hazel is in good health and her mom loves her; however, Mom is in the military and is being deployed soon, so she needs a new home for her little pup. If you would like to be the parent of a sweet-tempered pup who needs to be in a home with only humans, please consider Hazel. CONTACT INFORMATION: For more information about Hazel, please contact Jessica at 623-900-8662, or at schlabachjr@gmail.com. Thank you!

Milo is the complete puppy package. He is full of wiggles, pounces and kisses. He promises to keep you entertained and on your toes, as he tends to explore (aka get into) everything that catches his eye. Milo has a birth date of February 15, 2019 and he is an eight-pound chihuahua mix. He was an owner surrender to the county shelter, and his former owner of three months said that he was good with children, adults and other dogs. They stated that Milo and his puppy energy was too much for their older dogs to handle. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Minker, The Stinker, is definitely a favorite at Home Fur Good. Why would we call this 18-pound six-year-old a Stinker? Not because it is an insult, to be sure! Minker has a great sense of humor and he is always ready for anyone to take him on any sort of adventure. The best part about Minker is that a trip from his kennel to the lobby of the shelter is going to be the best trip of his life. He is such a stinker because he will make you smile and laugh even when you do not want to. Minker is a Chihuahua mix with the agility skills of an antelope. He is able to leap a four-foot wall in a single bound; what a stinker! Minker is great with other dogs and loves to play with his doggie friends. He also likes to unwind by hanging out in a nice warm lap. He is the perfect combination of playful entertainer and snuggly lapdog. Remember, Minker is a Chihuahua, and he does like to push buttons and boundaries. Minker did take Basic Obedience back in the summer of 2017 and it may be a good idea to give him a refresher course. He would do best with an experienced Chihuahua owner who will not let him get away with shenanigans. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Ray is a reserved little doggo who asks for a little patience while he sizes you and your intentions up. He is a four-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua and Dachshund mix, a Chiweenie. Ray was recently turned in at the county shelter as a stray. Ray is bashful, and he will shrink back when you come down to his level. He just needs time and patience to gain the confidence that he is safe and loved. Ray is a bit nervous when he is on the leash, but remove the leash and sit with him and soon he will be stepping lightly into your lap. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

 . ROBERT .
 . ROBERT . . ROBERT . . ROBERT . . ROBERT .
  • Pit Bull Terrier
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Robert is an adorable pocket-size Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 37 pounds. He was taken to the county shelter as a stray, and County noted that he became very excited and did not know how to appropriately release that energy. At seven years old, Robert is still a wide-eyed, curious kid. Everything is new to him: the leash, being fed at regular intervals, human contact and interaction. We cannot say for certain what his past was like, but we suspect it was not very good. Robert is currently spending his time with Couth Canine, learning how to be a dog. He is learning he does not have to worry, and he is learning he does not have to bite to get his way. Sit, stay, down...GOOD BOY! He is responding amazingly well to his basic obedience training. Robert is very strong-minded, and he will need a strong owner who will keep his manners in check and continue with his training. We recommend older children only. Robert does well with other dogs, but if there are other pups in the household a meet-and-greet will, of course, be required. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Pit Bull Terrier
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Two-year-old Rocket has come back to Home Fur Good. He has spent some quality time in a home environment to give him a break from shelter life. He is a 46-pound Pit Bull mix who has never met a two-legged stranger. While on his shelter break, Rocket was given the freedom to remain loose in his home. If left alone too long, Rocket would find ways to entertain himself, which could mean destroying something that was not his. Rocket was on his best behavior if he could burn energy on one activity per day. He enjoys playing fetch, running, going on long walks, and hiking. He likes to play a good game of tug-o-war, and squeaking on stuffed toys. Rocket has also worked on his obedience skills; he knows the cues for sit, down, off, stay, come, heel, and shake, and he can even jump through hoops. He has proven he is handsome and smart. Rocket may get excited at the first sighting of a cat, but then he loses interest. He would do best as the only dog, so he can soak up all the cuddles during couch time. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

If you like big mutts, like the folks at Home Fur Good, then you are going to love Samuel. Samuel is a 90-pound German shepherd mix, and he is the definition of a gentle giant. He is nine years old and was turned in at the county shelter as a stray. The notes by the county volunteers described him as friendly and mellow. While at county, Samuel was introduced to doggie playgroups, and although he did not engage in play, he was able to coexist and go about his business. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Three-year-old Tobin is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and he weighs 45 pounds. He came to Home Fur Good after being taken to the county shelter as a stray. Tobin is an intelligent boy; he knows the cues for sit and down. Full of energy, he gets so excited when his humans come home that he must have a toy in his mouth, just to hold, until he calms down. It is sweet; sort of like a pacifier for a baby. Ideally, Tobin could use a good yard in which he can run like the wind; he loves to run. Tobin is very social, and he looks forward to meeting you. He loves to snuggle up with his people for sleep, but he can get a little bit grouchy when he is disturbed. Tobin must go to a home where there are no small children, small dogs, or cats. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
