Brooklyn, a Pit Bull mix, came to Home Fur Good in August. She was an owner surrender to the county shelter and she was extremely underweight at only 23 pounds. Brooklyn recovered and weighs a healthy 45 pounds. She turned one year old in December and is full of puppy energy. Her favorite way to burn off energy is to play with her canine companions. Brooklyn plays with both male and female dogs at HFG. She is a smart cookie, and has mastered the cue to sit. She would enjoy continued training where she could exercise her mind, learning all the desired good-dog tricks. Brooklyn has been learning how much fun it is to go on walks. She is new to the experience, so she stops to smell all the flowers and then some. Brooklyn makes even the mundane exciting, when you see her eyes sparkle at all new experiences. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Home Fur Good took in Chalupa from the county shelter. She was born on January 8, 2018, and at just seven weeks old she was bitten by a larger dog on her itty-bitty noggin. Chalupa went directly into foster care to recover. Initially, she had open wounds and she spun in circles. She is a six-pound Chihuahua mix with a puppy drive to play, and nothing was going to keep her sidelined for long. Her little bean may be a bit misproportioned, but she is a happy, curious puppy now. Chalupa is crate trained. That means she has been left for up to eight hours in her crate with zero accidents. She is working on being house trained. If you watch her, she will wander to the door and start to spin in a circle; that is Chalupa saying she had better be taken outside. She loves to play with her 30-pound foster brother, but she does not care to interact with the 60-pound Golden Retriever that lives next door. Chalupa has slowly learned to give the cat some space, and once she figured out what to do on a walk, she became a big fan of walking the neighborhood. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Home Fur Good found Charlie at the county shelter in March 2017. He was a sad sack suffering from skin allergies. He was itchy, raw and even had open wounds. Charlie is on a special prescription diet and has grain-free treats, which have helped him immensely. He has a great attitude and craves being a member of the family. Charlie loves to be in the mix; he is no wallflower. He is a four-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing 60 pounds. He is very strong physically and determined mentally. When Charlie wants to do something, he is going to do it. He will do best with an owner with an even stronger will, who will be consistent and firm. Charlie cannot be allowed to rule the roost; he needs structure. He is a solid low-rider who does not know that he could bowl you over. He adores kids, but he does not always keep to his personal space and so he needs to be around older kids or kids who will not mind getting knocked off their feet a time or two. Charlie is low-maintenance when it comes to activity. A brisk walk or short burst of play will keep him happy. If you sit down, by the time you blink his head will be in your lap. Charlie would do best as an only dog; he does have a few quirks with sharing. He is looking for a forever home, but we are currently accepting applications to foster Charlie. He needs a break from the hustle and bustle of shelter life. A foster home would also provide excellent insight to his temperament in a home environment. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Two-year-old Donovan is busy making friends of all the staff and volunteers at Home Fur Good. He is a 59-pound Shepherd mix. However, Fozzie B is not prepared for all that interaction just yet. He is taking his time adjusting to shelter life, and that is just fine. Fozzie B can take all the time he wants, and when he is ready his forever home will appear. For now, polite conversation and treats, lots of treats, will win you a tail wag. Talk about Hulkamania, Hogan took his beefing up to a whole new level. His family was moving, and they turned this gentle giant in at the county shelter. County immediately recognized that a nine-year-old dog can be hard to adopt out, but when that older dog is also an obese dog, weighing 125 pounds, that dog will find himself on the euthanasia list. County used social media to put out a plea to help Hogan. Home Fur Good stepped in and rescued him, and then went straight to work on getting him a diet plan and testing for any health issues that may have caused his weight gain. His owners stated that they left Hogan outside both day and night, but that he is housebroken. They stated that Hogan likes adults, children, and other dogs. Hogan is looking for a home where he can be a member of the family, a family committed to making him a healthy dog. In return, he will definitely turn them into Hulkamaniacs! The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Wilbur is a Beagle mix who found himself at the county shelter, turned in as a stray. County noted that he was friendly on intake. Wilbur is easygoing and undemanding. True to his Beagle nature, he keeps his nose to the ground and lets his sniffer lead him. He weighs 47 pounds and he has a birthdate of March 4, 2007. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.

William and his brother Wallace were found as strays and taken to the county shelter. These nine-year-old brothers do not need to be adopted together, unless you are looking for two. They are nine-pound Chihuahua mixes. They are a bit timid at first, but they warm up quickly and love to receive attention. To tell these brothers apart, William has the pointy ears and Wallace has the floppy ears.
