  • Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Sweet Bea is just two years old, but she has already created quite a history book. Originally, Bea was captured in a trap out in a field and then taken to the county shelter, where Home Fur Good found her. Bea was under-socialized and needed to learn all about how to be a dog. You know, the good stuff, like going for walks. Bea was adopted out of HFG and she has been with a family for the past year. She is an active 45-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix. Bea is young and intelligent; she needs to play a role in family activities. Her family just did not have the time to devote to her. Bea did well with the children in her home, who were over five years old. Bea has not spent quality time with other dogs, and she appears intimidated by them. She warms up quickly and will sit when asked. After burning a little energy, Bea would love to snuggle up and get a good belly rub. If you would like to finish her story with a Happily Ever After, please come meet Bea. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

If you are a longtime Home Fur Good follower, you may remember Bianca. She was adopted back in October 2017, and now she has come back. Bianca is an adorable Pit Bull mix weighing in at 50 pounds, and she is two years old. She is extra-special because she is deaf, but being a smarty-pants, she does know some hand commands. Bianca has spent the majority of her adoption months living outdoors or in the laundry room. She is looking for a home where she can be a full member of the family and be a part of all activities. Bianca is excited and friendly with other dogs and with strangers. She is very animated with children and it is unknown how she is around cats. One more adorable quirk about Bianca: she loves bananas, broccoli, and brussels sprouts. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Labrador Retriever, Great Dane
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
If you love big mutts, as Home Fur Good does, then you are going to fall head over heels for Bran. Bran is technically just a puppy, born January 22, 2019, but he is a Labrador and Great Dane mix, currently weighing in at 50 pounds. Bran is a puppy full of joy, love, and playfulness. Not much is known about his past, because he arrived at the county shelter as a stray, but it appears someone taught him good-boy manners. Bran knows the cue to sit and is very receptive to learning more. The adoption fee for Bran is $400, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because he is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Bruce was found as a stray back in February, and he has been at the county shelter since then. He is a little guy, weighing 8 pounds, and he is a Chihuahua mix. County discovered that this little three-year-old allowed himself to be picked up and handled with no aggression. Bruce would come up and sniff and tease for more attention. They discovered he would seek attention more when by himself and not within a dog playgroup. Bruce is settling in at Home Fur Good. He has allowed himself to be picked up and loved on by everyone who has tried. He is looking for a home full of patience, consistency, and love - a place where he can learn to be himself and let his personality through. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Dukes is six-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds. He was turned in at the county shelter by his owner, along with his buddy Daisy. Dukes enjoys playtime in the yards with his buddy, but he is also independent and he does not rely on her to get through his day. Dukes is reserved and patient. He wants to get to know you, but he will wait to be invited over to say hi. Once he has formally met you, Dukes is very affectionate and will become your best friend. RunBuddy Mobile Gym comes to the shelter every Saturday, and Dukes is always on the list to participate. Farley came to Home Fur Good via special delivery from county, since they are currently on lockdown for a distemper outbreak. He had found himself at county after being picked up as a stray. Farley is full of enthusiasm and he wants to share his energy with everyone. He is a six-month-old Australian Kelpie mix weighing 29 pounds. Farley is all about the play; he just needs someone willing to teach him all those good-dog tricks, like learning to sit on command. His zest for life is infectious and you will fall in love instantly. • Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Poodle
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Frack has had a pretty ruff start in life, pun intended. He was born on February 24, 2019, and at only four weeks old he found himself turned in at the county shelter as a stray. Frack came down with ringworm, and even though it is treatable, ringworm can put a dog on the euthanasia list due to how contagious it is. Home Fur Good took in Frack and immediately started him on medicated baths to fix that ringworm. Just as Frack was about to be done with treatment, he tested positive for Parvo. Little Frack showed just how strong he is by pulling through and making himself strong enough to finally be available for adoption. Frack is a Yorkipoo, a mix between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Poodle. He is going to be a tiny dog, currently weighing just four pounds. Frack has spent his young life in isolation, to make sure he did thrive. Now, he is starved for love and affection. Frack cannot wait to be in your arms for snuggles. The adoption fee for Frack is $400, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. Several loving and adorable Chihuahuas were turned in at the county shelter as strays, and Home Fur Good took all of them in. They were all sharing a bond, and it is better to have a buddy while you wait your turn for a forever home. It is hard to know if they are related or if they are just good friends. Harriet is a member of the group and she is a young lady at three years old. She is a Chihuahua mix and she weighs a snuggly 13 pounds. Harriet is very chill and loves to hang out in a warm lap. You can find her hanging out with her clan, or out in the small-dog playgroup making new friends. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Jory was found in the desert with her buddies Meera and Nash. They were a matted bunch, in desperate need of some TLC. They were taken to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. MCACC is currently under lockdown for a distemper outbreak, so to avoid affecting intakes, county delivered these Maltese mixes to Home Fur Good. Jory and her friends went immediately to grooming to start the process of feeling better and letting their personalities shine through. Jory is three years old and she weighs nine pounds. She is a little cuddle bug who warms up quickly, especially when the treats appear. Jory has no issues with being picked up and snuggled by everyone, and she loves little kisses on her head. The adoption fee for Jory is $350, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because she is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Minker, The Stinker, is definitely a favorite at Home Fur Good. Why would we call this 18-pound six-year-old a Stinker? Not because it is an insult, to be sure! Minker has a great sense of humor and he is always ready for anyone to take him on any sort of adventure. The best part about Minker is that a trip from his kennel to the lobby of the shelter is going to be the best trip of his life. He is such a stinker because he will make you smile and laugh even when you do not want to. Minker is a Chihuahua mix with the agility skills of an antelope. He is able to leap a four-foot wall in a single bound; what a stinker! Minker is great with other dogs and loves to play with his doggie friends. He also likes to unwind by hanging out in a nice warm lap. He is the perfect combination of playful entertainer and snuggly lapdog. Remember, Minker is a Chihuahua, and he does like to push buttons and boundaries. Minker did take Basic Obedience back in the summer of 2017 and it may be a good idea to give him a refresher course. He would do best with an experienced Chihuahua owner who will not let him get away with shenanigans. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Mooney is a mature doggie; he is seven years old, so his puppy antic days are behind him. He is a ten-pound Chihuahua mix who carries in his fluffy, low-rider self lots of wisdom on how to be a good boy. He is friendly, likes to snuggle, and is dog-social. Mooney came from the county shelter where he was at risk of being put on the euthanasia list. Mooney had shared a kennel at county with a dog suffering from ringworm. Ringworm is treatable and curable but at a large county shelter, where it can spread rapidly, it is a death sentence. With the HFG Medical Fund, medicated dips, and tons of tender loving care, Mooney is ringworm-free and ready to be your lap dog. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Boxer, Pit Bull Terrier

The puppy with the crazy radar ears is Quade. Quade has a birthdate of June 23, 2018. He is a 36-pound Boxer and Pit Bull mix, but he is still growing into his body, as you can see by his ears that appear to have a mind of their own. Quade does not appear to understand the function of a leash; he is either nervous about the intentions of the leash or he assumes it is used for a game of tug. But he is a smart boy and will catch on quickly to the fact that leashes are for walking. Quade must have had someone in his past who taught him basic obedience. He has shown that he understands sit, shake, and down. Quade came to Home Fur Good from the county shelter. While at county, he was introduced to a doggie playgroup where he did have good social interactions. Home Fur Good has not yet introduced him to other dogs. If you are interested in adopting and already have a dog, a meet-and-greet will be required. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Two-year-old Rocket has come back to Home Fur Good. He has spent some quality time in a home environment to give him a break from shelter life. He is a 46-pound Pit Bull mix who has never met a two-legged stranger. While on his shelter break, Rocket was given the freedom to remain loose in his home. If left alone too long, Rocket would find ways to entertain himself, which could mean destroying something that was not his. Rocket was on his best behavior if he could burn energy on one activity per day. He enjoys playing fetch, running, going on long walks, and hiking. He likes to play a good game of tug-o-war, and squeaking on stuffed toys. Rocket has also worked on his obedience skills; he knows the cues for sit, down, off, stay, come, heel, and shake, and he can even jump through hoops. He has proven he is handsome and smart. Rocket may get excited at the first sighting of a cat, but then he loses interest. He would do best as the only dog, so he can soak up all the cuddles during couch time. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Meet Saint, a beautiful 8-year-old Black Lab mix. Saint is a loving dog, and very active; she still loves to run, play fetch, and go on walks. She is calm and good-natured and does well with other dogs. She might be child-selective, and probably should not go to a home with young children. She has been in her current family since she was a puppy and she is much loved, but sadly, circumstances have necessitated a search for a new forever home. Imagine, for a moment, being turned in at the county shelter because your owner could not afford to have you spayed, but did not want to keep you because there were unaltered males at home. The change of home environment would be a shock, especially if you are 13 years old and not as spry as you once were. This is the story of Tessa, but it has not kept this 19-pound Pug mix from smiling and making friends with everyone she meets. Three-year-old Tobin is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and he weighs 45 pounds. He came to Home Fur Good after being taken to the county shelter as a stray. Tobin is an intelligent boy; he knows the cues for sit and down. Full of energy, he gets so excited when his humans come home that he must have a toy in his mouth, just to hold, until he calms down. It is sweet; sort of like a pacifier for a baby. Ideally, Tobin could use a good yard in which he can run like the wind; he loves to run. Tobin is very social, and he looks forward to meeting you. He loves to snuggle up with his people for sleep, but he can get a little bit grouchy when he is disturbed. Tobin must go to a home where there are no small children, small dogs, or cats.
