Sometimes the biggest knuckleheads make the best of friends. Think about it, they are always up for fun. Why be serious when you can be goofy? That is how Allegra approaches life. Allegra was a stray who was approached by a county field officer. The stereotype is that dogs run from the dog catcher, but not Allegra; she approached the officer with a friendly and excited attitude. The officer noted that while walking on a leash in an unknown area she was timid but responded positively to reassurance and affection. While at county, Allegra was introduced to a doggie playgroup where she quickly gained confidence and engaged on and off in light play with the other dogs. County even considered making Allegra a helper dog, a dog that assists county with assessing new intakes. Then Home Fur Good came in and swept up the sweetest blockhead around. Allegra is a five-year-old, 50-pound Pit Bull mix and she would love to meet you! The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Aurora is a 10-year-old, 52-pound Staffordshire Terrier and Labrador Retriever mix. Aurora was found as a stray and taken to the county shelter, where Home Fur Good fell in love. Aurora was briefly adopted out from HFG, but it was not the perfect fit. Aurora needs a home where the people are more homebodies. If you find pleasure from doing activities at home, then Aurora will be your shadow. If she is left alone, she will find ways to entertain herself and you might not appreciate how she entertained herself. Since she is an older girl, her eyesight and hearing are failing her, but this does not slow down her spunk. When it comes to humans, she wants to be a constant, devoted sidekick. Aurora will enjoy a stroll about town, some chores around the house, and then an amazing nap beside you. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

They are Queensland Heelers and they have grown up together. How to tell them apart? Jax has a white stripe on his forehead. Both are seven years old; Bailey weighs 55 pounds and Jax 43 pounds. These two sweet dogs enjoy being active, loving walks, hiking, swimming, and camping trips. They are crate-trained, they both do very well off-leash, and they are obedient. Bailey and Jax are hoping really hard that they will find a forever home together; they need each other. Also, they will do best in a home with no children, as they tend to attach to adults and become protective of their adult humans. They are very loyal to their people. We hope some of you will consider meeting and adopting these two beautiful dogs. Bambina was turned in at the county shelter as a stray. She is an 11-year-old Chihuahua mix. Bambina is currently hitting the scales at 25 pounds; she is like a coffee table on legs. You do not get this chunky as a stray; she had a home and was loved with food. Home Fur Good would like to see Bambina go to a home dedicated to making her healthy, with appropriate amounts of food and strolls about town. Bambina will be happy with a home that shells out lots of petting and attention. If you scratch her ears just once, she will become your shadow hoping for more. Bambina is easygoing and very affectionate. Currently, she is sharing a kennel at HFG with another dog, so if you already have a four-legged shadow, she will fit right in. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Labrador Retriever, Great Dane
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
If you love big mutts, as Home Fur Good does, then you are going to fall head over heels for Bran. Bran just turned a year old; he has a birthdate of January 22, 2019. He is a Labrador and Great Dane mix, currently weighing in at 81 pounds, and he is also very tall, making him one big puppy. HFG first discovered Bran at the county shelter back in June, where he had been turned in as a stray. Bran has not had the best luck at finding his forever home, but he is very outgoing and positive and he has not given up. Bran has worked very hard to be a good boy; he has learned sit, lay, and shake. His owner stated that Bran is housebroken; they allowed him to be loose in the home. HFG does warn that accidents can happen, and a new dog should be given plenty of time to learn rules and routines about where and when they can go potty. Bran loves his squeaky toys and he is very affectionate, needing plenty of cuddle time. He enjoys car rides and his owner said he does well in public spaces. Bran is strong and energetic, and will need a household where his exercise needs can be met. Bran was very much loved in his home. In the beginning, he played beautifully with the dog already in the home. Over time, Bran became very dominant towards that dog. Bran would probably do best as the only dog in his forever home. Bran is an enthusiastic, growing puppy. He is looking for a home that has the time to work with him and make him a full-fledged member of the family. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Chiara was turned in at the county shelter as a stray. She spent two months at county before Home Fur Good fell under her charm. Chiara is a four-year-old, 60-pound Pit Bull mix. All of her county notes state how excited she was to come out of her kennel and that she was friendly and active on each outing. Chiara is just bursting to get out of a kennel and be allowed to explore. She is a joy to be around, but with her size and strength, she will need a family with dog experience and matching energy, to help her learn how to express that exuberance in a calmer way. Her bursts of energy do start to wane, and she will lie down and actively seek some belly rubs and pets. Chiara will be an amazing addition to her forever home; she will offer a lifetime of positive vibes. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

Home Fur Good is working to make sure he is happy and healthy and that he knows he will never go hungry again. Davey is a five-year-old Chihuahua mix working hard to weigh a bit more than six pounds. He is quickly adapting to life in the shelter and he has been busy making friends with both younger and older volunteers. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Enzo was out trying to live life on his own, when he was picked up by a county field officer. He is a very social boy; he was probably very excited to be taken to a place full of people. Enzo spent three full months at county before Home Fur Good scooped him up. Three months in shelter is a very long time. Did you know that shelter stress can set in within 10 to 14 days? County notes about Enzo start off saying how friendly he is and how easy he is to take in and out of his kennel. As the months wear on, Enzo starts to act out by biting at the leash and acting a little bit nutso in his kennel. He is becoming desperate to come out for attention; he does not realize his antics can be off-putting. This writer was taking out new dogs for pictures and to learn a bit about them. Each time I walked by his kennel Enzo tried harder and harder to get my attention. He is a four-year-old, 63-pound Pit Bull mix. Between his excitement and size, I was a bit nervous, I admit. But within seconds of having Enzo in a yard, he became another of my favorites. He was so thankful to be free, to be able to run and jump and get to know me. Enzo is really a giant puppy. When he was given a squeaky toy, it was on. We played chase, tug, fetch and keep away. Enzo had a sparkle in his eye and there was nothing for me to fear, unless a bit of drool, well quite a bit of drool, is going to hurt me. Enzo will thrive in a home that bonds with him by training him in basic obedience. By building trust, confidence, and social etiquette together with his people, Enzo will become a perfect family dog. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

  • Australian Kelpie
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Farley is an Australian Kelpie mix, weighing a fit 30 pounds. You may remember Farley or have heard stories about this little boy. He just turned a year old in December, so you would not think a dog so young would have much history to write about. Farley originally came to Home Fur Good last June. He is such a positive and enthusiastic boy; he instantly became a favorite. So, why was he returned from two different adoptions? Home Fur Good wanted to make sure that Farley would succeed so they contacted Couth Canine for training. Couth Canine has made it their mission to not only help improve the behavior of a dog, but also to equip the owner with understanding, tools, and confidence to have the best possible relationship with their dog. With Farley, Couth Canine has found that his biggest issue is being insecure around new things. The suggested family would be one that is very active, continually exposing Farley to new situations, and willing and capable to work with him through each scenario. Or, he would need a family on the opposite end of the spectrum: a family that is low-key and sticks to home and routine walks in their neighborhood. Farley would struggle with random adventures and new situations that were not consistent. Couth Canine has not identified anything specific that Farley needs to avoid; it is the general scenario of new, loud, and unexpected situations. Farley is currently boarding and training with Couth Canine, and they are spending quality time with him. Couth Canine feels that Farley is smart, sweet, and fully capable of behaving appropriately around new situations. That is, if his family is patient and gives Farley constructive feedback. Couth Canine is very committed to seeing Farley succeed. If you are interested in meeting him, Couth Canine would like you to contact them directly and go to their facility to meet Farley and see him going through his lessons. The adoption would still go through Home Fur Good, but Couth Canine would provide the tools to really understand Farley. Couth Canine can be reached at 602-466-5178. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.

This adorable pup is 2 years old, weighs 29 pounds, and is a mix, with primary breed unknown. Georgia LOVES people; she is all about cuddles and belly rubs. She does not like cats at all, nor does she do well with other dogs, and that is why she needs a new home; there is a cat in her foster home. Georgia is crate-trained, and she is so sweet-natured that she is happy entertaining herself with a stuffed Kong until it is time to play or to go outside, where she will proudly show off her excellent zoomies and make you laugh and love her. She is smart; she knows sit, down, and sit pretty, and is learning more every day. Essentially, Georgia will be a dream doggie in any household where she can be active and loved, and where there are no other pets. She absolutely needs to be an only pet. But as a bonus, if she lands in a home with humans who run, she will be an amazing running buddy. You must meet this angel of a dog. One of the great reasons to adopt a more mature dog is that they are low maintenance in the drama department. Giulia is an eight-year-old, 66-pound German Shepherd mix. She had been turned in at the county shelter as a stray. From her start at county, notes indicated she is friendly, nonreactive to other dogs, and mellow. Giulia is content to just hang with her peeps. She does not require 10-mile walks or hours of fetch. She will sit and binge Netflix all day with you. If you should happen to want to go for a stroll or give her nice brushing, that will be all it takes to make her day. When you mix a Rottweiler with a German Shepherd, you come up with a block-headed, squishie-faced love bug with a nubbin tail that never stops wagging. That description is a bit long, so you could also say that the mix makes a dog that is 100 percent pure affection. Madison is six years old, she weighs 62 pounds, and she wants to be your new bestie. Madison was turned in at the county shelter as a stray. While at county, she was introduced to a doggie playgroup where she had tolerant interactions with other dogs. Her preference was to be in the lap of any human, where she could shell out kisses and get lots of petting. County took the time to note that Madison is not into hot dogs, but she does like Cheese Whiz and peanut butter. If you are into unique snacks, Madison may be the dog for you. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Nero was found as a stray, and the county shelter was contacted to pick him up. Nero is a three-year-old, 60-pound Pit Bull mix. His finder stated that Nero was friendly from the moment they came upon each other. When the county field officer went to pick him up, Nero was very fearful, and he needed to be snared to be put in the truck. His county notes state he was nervous and tense. Shelter life can be a scary adjustment for any dog, and if that dog has been under-socialized, they will act out in fear, barking or stiffening up, hoping to make the scariness go away. Now that Nero is at Home Fur Good, he will have structure and a daily routine, which will build his confidence. He has already started to learn that coming out of his kennel leads to good things: a treat, a yard break, or maybe even a little walk. Nero would be great for a family that wanted to introduce him to basic obedience training. Training increases communication and understanding between a dog and his human. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
