Two-year-old A.J. came to Home Fur Good via a partnership with Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team (HARTT). He is a 15-pound Chihuahua mix, with the mix part being more of what he looks like. A.J. is a quiet boy who does not voice too many opinions. He has not learned the function of a leash yet, but he is totally cool with being picked up and carried around like a prince. A.J. is more timid than outgoing, but he warms up quickly and his trust in humans strengthens daily with all the love and affection he is receiving from staff and volunteers. He arrived with a buddy, whom he allows to do all the talking. A.J. would do well in a home with another dog that could show him the ropes. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.

Seven-year-old Artie snuck his way into Home Fur Good. HFG rescued a dog named Webster from county and county said he had a Chihuahua mix buddy. Due to a little miscommunication, Artie snuck into our van, posing as that buddy. A few days later, county realized the situation and called HFG to tell us that the real Webster buddy, Hector, was still at county. Whoops. HFG won in that mix-up, getting to enjoy 10-pound Artie until he wags his way into the car that will take him to his forever home. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. • Up-to-date with routine shots
Home Fur Good found Charlie at the county shelter in March 2017. He was a sad sack suffering from skin allergies. He was itchy, raw and even had open wounds. Charlie is on a special prescription diet and has grain-free treats, which have helped him immensely. He has a great attitude and craves being a member of the family. Charlie loves to be in the mix; he is no wallflower. He is a four-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing 60 pounds. He is very strong physically and determined mentally. When Charlie wants to do something, he is going to do it. He will do best with an owner with an even stronger will, who will be consistent and firm. Charlie cannot be allowed to rule the roost; he needs structure. He is a solid low-rider who does not know that he could bowl you over. He adores kids, but he does not always keep to his personal space and so he needs to be around older kids or kids who will not mind getting knocked off their feet a time or two. Charlie is low-maintenance when it comes to activity. A brisk walk or short burst of play will keep him happy. If you sit down, by the time you blink his head will be in your lap. Charlie would do best as an only dog; he does have a few quirks with sharing. He is looking for a forever home, but we are currently accepting applications to foster Charlie. He needs a break from the hustle and bustle of shelter life. A foster home would also provide excellent insight to his temperament in a home environment. Oh, it is puppy time, and Diego is ready to step up to the cuteness challenge. With a birthdate of March 2, 2018, Diego is an eight-pound bundle of puppy wiggles. He is a Chihuahua mix, taken in by a Good Samaritan who attempted to find his home. Diego stayed in this foster home for a month before being taken to county. His foster stated that Diego stayed in the house both day and night and that he was housebroken, and that Diego likes all people, both adults and children. In fact, the foster had an eight-year-old son whom Diego played nicely with. The foster did state that Diego was a digger and would dig at the boundary fence. Diego does enjoy the company of other dogs, and he has been sharing a kennel at Home Fur Good. The adoption fee is $300 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Two-year-old Donovan is a 59-pound Shepherd mix who has been with Home Fur Good since February. When you inquire about Donovan, the first response is about how handsome he is, and then you hear about what a great fetcher he is. Donovan is playful, enjoying a good game of tug-o-war or chase. He is also very gentle, even with little kids. Donovan just soaks up attention; he wants to sit near you and hopefully get to flip over for an amazing belly rub. Donovan will need to be the only dog in his new home; he will give you all the loyalty and doggie kisses you could want. On your first visit to Donovan you may think he is too shy or aloof, but once he knows you, your heart will sing when you see how excited he gets to see familiar faces. He is cautious, but he is also very curious, and he does want to meet you. Two-year-old Fozzie B has been with Home Fur Good since March. He is a 19-pound Cairn Terrier mix with an independent nature. When Fozzie B arrived, he attached himself to his favorite person. He decided he was only going to show his loving side to her and everyone else would be warned off. Although it can be a great ego boost to know you are his chosen one, this does not do well on adoptability. HFG is determined to help Fozzie B find his forever home. Fozzie B is having personalized training sessions twice a week with a professional trainer. Also, volunteers and staff who have fallen under his spell are working with him to increase the number of people allowed into his circle of trust. He has been staying in a foster home on the days the shelter is closed. In the home environment he loves to snuggle, be a member of the dog pack in the home, and he is doing very well at becoming housebroken. Fozzie B would require a home with no small children, but other dogs would most likely work. If you have the time and patience to develop an unbreakable bond, please take a moment to meet Fozzie B, and then maybe meet him another time, and maybe another, until he is ready to be your best friend. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Five-year-old Gusto has been with Home Fur Good since February. He is a 56-pound Shar-Pei mix who adores human affection. Gusto could sit for hours soaking up petting and kisses. Do not let his calm demeanor fool you, though -- he is an energetic boy that loves toys. The coming of summer has taught us that he is a water dog, too. Talk about Hulkamania, Hogan took his beefing up to a whole new level. His family was moving, and they turned this gentle giant in at the county shelter. County immediately recognized that a nine-year-old dog can be hard to adopt out, but when that older dog is also an obese dog, weighing 125 pounds, that dog will find himself on the euthanasia list. County used social media to put out a plea to help Hogan. Home Fur Good stepped in and rescued him, and then went straight to work on getting him a diet plan and testing for any health issues that may have caused his weight gain. His owners stated that they left Hogan outside both day and night, but that he is housebroken. They stated that Hogan likes adults, children, and other dogs. Hogan is looking for a home where he can be a member of the family, a family committed to making him a healthy dog. In return, he will definitely turn them into Hulkamaniacs! Two-year-old Javier came to Home Fur Good from MCACC West, the animal shelter of Maricopa County. Javier is a 19-pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi mix. If you would like to win over Javier, all you need to do is pull out a squeaky toy. Squeak a toy and he transforms from a shy wallflower into a bounding, pouncing, and playful little boy. He shared a kennel at county, and while he is new to Home Fur Good, indications are that he will fit right into the Small-Dog Playgroup. County notes state that he was timid and skittish on impound, but that he allowed handling. They recommend older children in his new home. Javier is wary of a leash, but he allows himself to be picked up; just move slowly and let him see your actions. He just takes a visit or two to be your best buddy. I got to meet Javier in his kennel at county and he allowed me to pick him up. On his second day at HFG he allowed me to carry him out to the yards and he showed me how much fun squeaky toys are. By my third visit, Javier was ready to leap out of his kennel and into my arms; he is a love bug when given a chance. Six-year-old Jimme came to Home Fur Good from MCACC West, the animal shelter of Maricopa County. Jimme is a 62-pound German Shepherd mix. Jimme seems to take all changes in stride. He patiently waits his turn for attention, and when it is his turn, he enjoys every moment. County notes indicate that Jimme was nervous in the play yard with other dogs, and that he preferred the company of the handler. Jimme was an instant new favorite of the staff at HFG. His sight might not be as good as it once was, but he has no problems getting around and searching for a comfy lap. Simon is good with kids and with other dogs; he will easily fit into your pack. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet.

**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A COURTESY POST AND SONNY *IS NOT* AT HOME FUR GOOD**. TO MEET HIM, OR FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE USE THE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW. Meet Sonny, a nearly perfect dog. He is an 11-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing 60 pounds. Sonny badly needs a new home for reasons that are neither his fault nor that of his family. This handsome gentleman is so playful that people often assume he is a puppy. But he can also be quiet and calm, and Sonny enjoys lovable roughhousing as much as he does sleeping half the day away. Affectionate and super-friendly, he was trusted alone with a baby. Extremely well trained, great on leash and in car, stays home loose and alone with no issues, non-possessive, will not climb on furniture without permission. Sonny simply loves all people immediately. Microchipped, neutered, and current on all shots. CONTACT INFORMATION: To meet Sonny, or for more information, please contact Greg at 623.889.4379 or greg.mueller87@gmail.com. Thank you!

Stacey will be turning two years old on August 8th. She is a 40-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix. Stacey is wary of strangers, but what little is known of her history may explain her timidity. She was found tied to a tree before being rescued and taken to the county shelter, where Home Fur Good fell in love with her. Since arriving in February, Stacey has made progress. She comes to the front of her kennel to greet staff and volunteers whom she knows and trusts. Getting Stacey out of her kennel is still a bit of a project; however, once she is out she will crawl into the laps of her favorite people. She is dog-selective, but she has been and is currently a member of dog playgroups. She enjoyed the company of rambunctious puppies and currently enjoys comforting another shy dog. Stacey has shown indications that in a home setting she may prefer to be an only dog. Stacey is very shy, requiring reassurance to gain confidence, but you can tell she enjoys being held or sitting close to her trusted people. There is a very loving girl under all the hesitation.
