Hey! Ariel is reaching out to you for attention! This adorable girl, who turned 1 in early April, will reach out to you if she feels you are ignoring her. Her goal is to show you her playful side. And then when that is accomplished, time for a bit of snuggling. Found as a stray, the family couldn't keep her but reported that she is good with kids, is sweet and loving. Other cats in our cat room were not always her pals, so she might do best as the only cat. She does loves to play! Bella means 'beautiful' in Italian - check out her 'beauty mark' on her cute face. She's 5-years-old and came to us when a baby came into the household. Fred, born in May 2023, came from a home with too many cats. He and his brother Timothy came from that home. They are not bonded but evidently, they are brother friendly. We aren't yet sure if they like other cats as they just moved into our Free Roam Cat room. Fred's orange and white fur is silky soft, which he will prove when he leans into your hand for gentle pets. Currently his favorite activity in the cat room is watching the birds. Well, besides getting hugs and love from our volunteers- see his video! Greta, a beautiful dilute tortie born 3/7/2021, has been through a lot. She was a feral cat that gave birth in the spring of 2023 to a litter of three in her finder's roof; all three of her kittens were adopted. Since coming to the shelter, Greta has been trying to adjust to a domesticated life surrounded by people and other cats. Kitten steps with building that trust! Greta does enjoy playing with wand toys; just check out her video! We are confident that given time and space, Greta will learn that people are here to care and love her. To help her along that path, Greta recently spent time in a calm and loving foster home where she showed that she can trust humans who go slow with her. Her foster reported she no longer hid when her bedroom door was opened but in fact, Greta would walk over to rub against the foster's hand. And when foster mom was away for a few days, Greta came to foster dad just fine. Might not sound like much, but for Greta, it's like the first step onto the moon!
