Sponsor A Sweetie!
Some of our adorable dogs and cats, through no fault of their own, end up having an extended stay with Home Fur Good. Others have special needs that require extra attention and care. You can help these wonderful animals as they wait for their forever homes by sponsoring one (or more) of these animals!
By sponsoring, you’ll free up Home Fur Good funds for other needy animals and you help offset costs of medical and dental care that some of our rescue animals require. Your gift is much appreciated and tax-deductible.

Cruella is ready to flop and show you her adorable tummy, but you will have to reward her with some tummy scratches. This sweet girl is not shy and will gladly let you know when she wants attention, she will even show you how to make biscuits! She is a 4 year old DSH with unique markings. She can be a little spicy if she gets overstimulated, but then again living in a shelter with 15 other cats is nothing but overstimulating! What’s a girl to do?
Who doesn’t love a chonky gal? Yes, yes, Honey surely needs a family that will help her to achieve her healthy weight goals. Until then, our hearts can skip a beat at her chonky goodness! Honey is 10 years old and doing her best to adjust to the hustle and bustle of shelter life. She finds security under a blanket but will accept slow blinks and gently pets. Time and patience in a calm home is what she deserves.
Ahhh, what to say about RANDY? Home Fur Good loves this guy, and we know his perfect family is out there that will love him just the way he is. And the way Randy “is,”… is a bit special! ;-) Randy has had a few failed adoptions thus far, but we all know you don’t often find true love on the first try. Randy has spent quite a bit of time with our trainer, who has helped us gain some more insight into his personality.
Petey came to Home Fur Good in November 2021 after being found as a stray. He was coming up on a full year at HFG, and steps have been taken to help him complete the process to find his forever family. Getting his stats out there, he will soon be turning three years old, and he is a 53-pound, Boxer mix. HFG has always known that Petey is a good boy and that he has amazing potential to learn new tricks, skills, and the desired behaviors to become an amazing canine citizen. Petey has spent two full weeks in Board and Train with George at Couth Canine. Petey was introduced to heeling and sitting at his handler’s side. Petey loves going on walks and adventures, and by learning leash manners, his opportunity to go out and about increases tenfold. Petey thrived with school and having a pack leader. Petey’s biggest desire is hanging out with people and feeling pets and affection.
Greta is a young cat that has been through a lot lately. She was a feral cat that gave birth to a litter in her finder’s roof. She is the mother of our “G” kittens; Gaia, Giana, and Geneva (they have all been adopted!). Greta is still adjusting to a domesticated life surrounded by people. For now, she will warn you away with hisses and swats. We discovered that she does enjoy being pet with a back scratcher; she is just not quite ready for real hands yet. We are confident that given time and space, Greta will learn that people are here to care for her and love her. If you are looking to help foster or adopt a special cat in need, please call 602-971-1334 to for a meet and greet appointment with Greta! Greta’s adoption fee is $85. She is listed at one-year-old. All Home Fur Good cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated appropriate for their age, tested for FIV/FELV and vet checked. Home Fur Good Animal Rescue is located at 10220 North 32nd Street, just south of Shea Blvd in Phoenix.
Guinness is a busy little bee that has been on the minds of those at Home Fur Good who make the journey to county to find new residents. Three weeks after the initial meeting, Guinness was still at county searching for his forever home, so HFG brought him in to try and help with that search. He is a four-year-old, 18-pound, highly active Chihuahua mix. Guinness knows that he is handsome, and he asks that you allow him space; he is not one of those dogs that wants to constantly be picked up and snuggled. He is confident in himself, and he does not require all that assurance. With his dash of chihuahua attitude, Guinness will do best in a home with older children. He has really begun to trust his favorite volunteers, and he will seek affection and glorious head scratches. Guinness loves the game of fetch, he goes batty for squeaky toys, and for now, playing is much more fun than dozing the day away!
Meet Allegra, a delightful 53-pound APBT mix with a personality as upbeat as her name suggests. At 9 years old, she has gracefully transitioned past the puppy stage but remains an active and engaging companion. Despite being deaf, Allegra is exceptionally tuned in to her surroundings, and demonstrates a remarkable level of awareness.
This smart cookie thrives on mental stimulation. Her smarts make her stand out during enrichment activities at Home Fur Good. Allegra is not just a participant; she’s one of the fastest puzzle solvers there! She proves that age is no barrier to a sharp mind. However, kennel life has been a challenge for her, as her intelligence seeks constant engagement.
During walks, Allegra is an attentive and eager partner. While her enthusiasm might initially lead to pulling, she quickly responds to redirection and settles into a pleasant stroll. Deafness hasn’t hindered her obedience training; she’s mastered hand signals for sit, give paw and wait. Allegra is ready and willing to learn many more!
Allegra is destined to shine in a home environment. She craves one-on-one attention, where her best qualities can truly blossom. Boredom in the shelter sometimes prompts OCD behaviors, such as pacing and hyper-focusing on objects, but redirection quickly brings her back to her charming self.
Allegra needs to be the only pet in a household, and after years of waiting, she deserves all the attention she can get. Allegra is available for adoption or permanent foster. Her adoption fee of $150 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet this lovely senior, adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 602-971-1334. As part of our HFG Senior Support Program, Allegra is also available for permanent foster thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. If you become a permanent foster, HFG will pay for Allegra’s vet visits, dental care, medications, prescription foods, and any other necessary care to keep her thriving in your foster home. Call us at 602-971-1334 or email info@homefurgood.org if you’re interested in becoming Allegra’s permanent foster!
Meet Gisele, a four-year-old English Bulldog with adorable wrinkles and a loving personality. Weighing in at 31 pounds, Gisele may have arrived at Home Fur Good thin and neglected, but her resilient spirit shines through. Despite her challenging past, Gisele’s enthusiasm for life is evident in the happy wiggle of her posterior as she eagerly approaches anyone willing to share a moment with her. She melts your heart with her gentle demeanor.
This sweet doggo is a social butterfly, and she basks in the warmth of human companionship. Gisele has a penchant for affection. She’ll gladly lean on you, accepting scritches and pets with obvious gratitude. Her favorite pastime is chasing and fetching stuffed toys. She pounces on the toy and trots back with the cutest booty wiggle you’ll ever see! Although Gisele is a people-pleaser, she is not a fan of other dogs. She’d love to be the only pet in her forever home.
Gisele has an inherited skin condition called Color Dilation Alopecia which causes her to have dry skin and spots of hair loss. There is no cure, but the condition can be managed with medication if she has flare-ups.
For those who fall in love with Gisele, her adoption fee of $225 covers essential services such as spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and even a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Don’t miss the chance to welcome this delightful doggo into your home. To arrange a meeting with Gisele, call 602-971-1334.
